A former client of Somerset Capital, Mr. Rieber was brought on board in 2006 to create and develop what is now Somerset Equipment Sales. In five years, the division has grown to include two warehouses in Illinois, with a consistent inventory of 250 pieces of equipment, and sales stretching over five continents. Mr. Rieber has built a reputation for honesty and integrity in the material handling industry, which he attributes to his continuing success, and personally trained his staff to emulate his approach.

Aside from the day-to-day operations, one of Mr. Rieber’s primary functions involves front-end residual evaluations for all material handling assets. Actively buying and selling equipment for nearly 20 years, he possesses extensive knowledge of real time valuations as well as future/residual values. He is an expert in remarketing assets, and oversees all aspects of operations from equipment inspection to advertising and marketing for direct sale or consignment. Mr. Rieber presently consults with and remarkets assets for many financial institutions, as well as his end user clients.

Mr. Rieber began his equipment-trading career in 1991, buying directly from end users and leasing companies at a competitive equipment company. In 2003, he took his skills elsewhere and focused on valuation and sales of aerial equipment, in addition to forklifts and construction equipment. Mr. Rieber holds a B.S. in Business Marketing from Illinois State University.
